For people who prefer to prevent instead of healing.

What is Q10? and why is it good for you?

Co-enzyme Q10 is a vitamin-like substance that is found throughout the whole body but mostly in the heart, kidneys, liver and pancreas. It is also found in small amounts in meat and sea fruit. Co-enzyme Q10 can also be made in a laboratory. It was first discovered in 1957 and the name refers to the chemical composition of the substance. Q10 is so important for the health, that the man who mapped out the cellular use of Q10, Peter Mitchell, received the Nobel prize for biochemistry for this in 1978.

Q10 is mostly used for conditions that affect the heart, like heart failure, chest pain and high blood pressure. It is also used to prevent migraine headache, Parkinson’s disease and many other conditions. Q10 also acts as an antioxidant, that protects cells and DNA from damage and plays an important part in the metabolism. Furthermore, Q10 slows down the aging process.
Even though most healthy people naturally have enough Q10 in the body, there is proof that taking more Q10, by taking supplements for example, can be beneficial. Aging and some medical conditions can cause the body to produce less Q10. There are simple blood tests that can easily measure your own Q10-levels. A shortage of Q10 can lead to oxidative stress, which increases the risk of a number of conditions, like heart and vascular disease.

5 advantages of Q10

• It prevents and decreases the change of heart diseases.
Researches show that Q10 helps heart patients to keep the heart strong, reduces the number of hospitalizations and it ensures good overall health.

• It decreases inflammation throughout the body.
Q10 decreases inflammation in the body through its anti-oxidative effects, studies showed. This is important because many diseases are caused by inflammation. Inflammation are most of the time caused by bad health habits, insufficient sleep and a shortage of nutrients.

It fights gingivitis and bleeding gums.
Another effect of Q10 is its impact on gum diseases. research showed that Q10 can be used as a topical treatment for periodontitis. Gum diseases are a pervasive problem which leads to widespread health problems, when left untreated. The mouth is a gateway to the rest of the health and Q10 can help you stay healthy.

It works with the crucial fat-soluble vitamins.
Because Q10 is a fat-soluble vitamin, it is accompanied by their great benefits. This is because fat-soluble vitamins are transported in lipoproteins, that can stay longer in the body and are better absorbed. Other fat-soluble vitamins include vitamin A, D and K2 – which are important for the bones, teeth and every other system in the body.

• It fights cognitive decline, improves memory and brain performance.
Low Q10 levels are associated with a lot of health problems, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. researches have showed that Q10 protects the brain functions, by helping with ATP-synthesis and related mitochondrial functions.

Q10 has a great number of health benefits and together with red yeast rice it also works very well to lower the cholesterol. So, our Natriche Cholesterol isn’t only good to lower the cholesterol but it has countless of others benefits.
